- 1/2 c. lukewarm milk (not hot)
- 1 pkg. yeast
- 1/4 c. melted shortening
- 1/4 c. sugar
- 1/2 c. lukewarm mashed potatoes
- 3/4 tsp. salt
- 1/4 c. flour
- 2 c. flour
Directions

1Put in a mixing bowl first 2 ingredients.

2Let stand 5 minutes. Stir in next 5 ingredients.

3Beat thoroughly.

4Cover; let rise until light.

5Add 2 cups flour.

6Mix thoroughly.

7Cover and again let rise to about double in size.

8Turn onto a floured board.

9Pat and roll 1/4-inch thick.

10Shape in any shape desired.

11Bake at 425° for 12 to 20 minutes according to size of the biscuits.
