  • 1 pkg. dry yeast
  • 1/2 c. warm water
  • 1/2 c. soft margarine
  • 1/2 c. soft shortening
  • 3/4 c. sugar
  • 1 c. hot seasoned mashed potatoes
  • 1 c. cold water
  • 6 to 6 1/2 c. flour

    In large bowl, sprinkle yeast into warm water.

    Stir until dissolved.

    Stir in butter, shortening, sugar and potatoes, then cold water and enough flour to make dough stiff.

    Place dough in large, greased clean bowl.

    Brush top with vegetable oil; cover tightly with waxed paper or foil, then with a clean towel. Refrigerate.
