  • 6 medium potatoes, peeled and diced
  • 1 small onion (optional)
  • 1 stalk celery (optional)
  • 2 tsp. seasoned salt
  • 1/2 tsp. pepper
  • 1 to 2 lb. ham ends or ham bone
  • 2 qt. water
  • 3 Tbsp. bacon grease
  • 2 Tbsp. all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 c. milk

Directions

    Place ham ends or bone and water in Dutch oven.

    Boil until tender.

    Remove ham and cut into pieces.

    Put diced potatoes, onion, celery and seasonings into the stock.

    Bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer for 20 minutes.

    Add ham back to broth.
