  • 3 c. all-purpose flour, plus dash of salt, sifted 3 times
  • 3 c. sugar, sifted once
  • 2 sticks butter
  • 6 eggs
  • 1 Tbsp. Crisco oil
  • 1 Tbsp. vanilla flavoring
  • 1 Tbsp. lemon flavoring (if desired)
  • 1/2 pt. whipping cream

Directions

    Cream butter and sugar.

    Add eggs, one at a time, beating after each addition.

    Add Crisco oil, flour and whipping cream alternately.

    Add flavoring.

    Place in cold oven.

    Bake at 325°for 1 or 1 1/2 hours.
