  • 2 sticks butter
  • 1 stick Alco
  • 3 c. sugar
  • 1 c. milk
  • 6 eggs
  • 3 c. Swans Down cake flour
  • 1 tsp. vanilla flavoring
  • 1 1/2 tsp. lemon flavoring
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. baking powder

    Cream shortening and add sugar gradually.

    Add one egg at a time and beat thoroughly.

    Mix dry ingredients together and add dry ingredients, alternating with milk.

    Add flavorings and beat well.

    Pour into a well-greased and floured tube pan. Cook 1 hour and 10 minutes at 275° or 300°.

    Cool 15 minutes and turn on rack to cool.
