- 3 sticks butter
- 5 eggs
- 1 Tbsp. water
- 4 c. sifted flour
- 1 tsp. lemon
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 3 c. sugar
- 1/4 tsp. soda
- 1 c. buttermilk
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1/2 tsp. butternut
Directions

1Cream butter (at room temperature, but not soft).

2Add sugar gradually.

3Cream until light and fluffy.

4Add egg one at a time, beating well after each addition.

5Dissolve soda in water; add to buttermilk.

6Add salt and flavorings.

7Add flour and buttermilk alternately; blend well.

8Spray tube pan with Baker's Joy.

9Pour in batter.

10Bake at 325° to 350° for approximately 1 hour and 20 minutes.
