  • 1 stick margarine
  • 1 c. Crisco
  • 3 c. plain flour
  • 3 c. sugar
  • 1/4 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 5 eggs
  • 1 c. milk

    Cream butter, sugar and Crisco; add 1 egg at a time, beating slowly.

    Sift flour, salt and baking powder.

    Alternate milk and flour.

    Beat well.

    Preheat oven to 325° and bake for 1 1/2 hours. Cool for 10 to 15 minutes before removing from pan.
