- 2 sticks butter, softened
- 1/2 c. Crisco shortening
- 3 c. sugar
- 5 eggs
- 3 c. flour (Softasilk cake flour), sifted twice
- 1 c. Pet or Carnation milk
- 1 Tbsp. vanilla
- 1 Tbsp. lemon flavoring
Directions

1Combine butter and shortening.

2Sift 3 cups sugar twice and cream in butter and shortening.

3Add 5 eggs, 1 at a time, beating well after each one.

4Add 3 cups Softasilk cake flour, sifted twice.

5Add 1 cup milk, 1 tablespoon vanilla and 1 tablespoon lemon flavoring and beat well.

6Pour into mold.

7Cook at 350° for 1 to 1 1/2 hours.
