- 3 c. sugar
- 1/2 c. Crisco
- 2 sticks margarine
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 6 large eggs
- 3 1/4 c. plain flour (do not sift before measuring)
- 1 small can evaporated Pet milk (3/4 c.) with enough water added to make 1 cup liquid
- 2 tsp. vanilla flavoring
Directions

1Cream sugar, shortening and salt until fluffy.

2Add eggs, one at a time, beating thoroughly.

3Add flour and milk alternately; beat well.

4Bake in greased tube pan for 1 hour and approximately 25 minutes.

5Start in cold oven.

6Bake at 325°.

7Start timer after cake is put in oven.

8Let cool in pan.

9Do not open oven door while baking.

10It will fall.

11Test cake after 1 hour and 25 minutes. Bottom of pan may be lined with wax paper.
