- 3 c. plain flour
- 3 c. sugar
- 5 eggs
- 1/2 c. Crisco
- 2 sticks margarine (room temperature)
- 1 c. milk
- 1/2 tsp. baking powder
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1 tsp. orange, lemon, rum or coconut flavoring (optional)
Directions

1Mix sugar, butter and Crisco until smooth.

2Add vanilla and eggs.

3Beat well, add flour and milk, beat about 5 minutes.

4Add baking powder.

5Beat 2 minutes.

6Pour into 2 loaf

7or 1 tube pan that has been greased and lined with wax paper.

8Cook at 350° one hour or until tester comes out clean when stuck in cake.

9Cool in pans about 10 minutes.

10Take out of pans.

11Put in a tight container until cold.
