- 2 sticks butter or margarine
- 1/2 c. shortening
- 3 c. white sugar
- 5 large or 6 small eggs
- 1 tsp. lemon flavoring
- 1 tsp. vanilla flavoring
- 3 c. sifted flour
- 1 tsp. baking powder
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 1 c. milk
Directions

1Sift flour, salt and baking powder 3 times.

2Cream margarine and shortening well.

3Beat in sugar.

4Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition.

5Add flavorings and blend.

6Add sifted dry ingredients alternately with milk, starting and ending with flour.

7Beat well and pour into a greased and floured 10-inch tube pan.

8Bake at 325° for 70 minutes.

9Cool 15 minutes before removing from pan.
