  • 1 c. butter or oleo
  • 3 c. sugar
  • 3 c. cake flour
  • 2 tsp. vanilla flavoring
  • 1/2 c. Crisco
  • 5 eggs
  • 1 c. milk

Directions

    Cream the butter, Crisco and sugar.

    Add eggs, one at a time, beating 3 minutes after each egg.

    Add milk alternately with sifted cake flour, beating until well mixed and smooth.

    Add vanilla and mix well.

    Pour into well-greased tube cake pan. Bottom of pan should be lined with wax paper.

    Place in cold oven set at 300° and bake until it leaves side of pan (approximately 1 1/2 hours).
