Ingredients
- 1 1/2 c. milk
- 1/2 c. sugar
- 2 tsp. cornstarch
- 1 Tbsp. butter
- 1/8 tsp. salt
- 2 tsp. gelatin
- 2 Tbsp. cold water
- 3 eggs, separated
- 3/4 tsp. vanilla
- 2 c. whipped cream
- 1 (8-inch) baked pie shell
Directions

1Scald milk in double boiler.

2Soak gelatin in cold water.

3Mix together sugar, cornstarch, salt and egg yolks.

4Gradually pour milk into this mixture and return to double boiler.

5Cook until thickened.

6Remove from heat.

7Add gelatin, butter and vanilla. Chill.

8When mixture is cool, add beaten egg whites and pour into baked pie shell.

9Sprinkle with nutmeg and chill for several hours. Spread with whipped cream and chocolate curls.
