- 4 (16 oz.) cans red kidney beans
- 1/2 c. butter or margarine
- 8 oz. shredded Provolone cheese (about 2 c.)
- 1/4 to 1/3 c. chopped hot pepper (jalapenos or Serranos)
- 2 Tbsp. minced onion
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- corn or tortilla chips for dipping
Directions

1Drain beans, reserving 2/3 cup of the liquid.

2Mash beans.

3In a large skillet, combine beans, liquid, butter, cheese, peppers, onion, garlic and salt.

4Heat and stir until mixture is hot and cheese melts.

5Transfer to chafing dish or crock-pot.

6Serve with chips.
