  • 9-inch pie crust, flute to make a stand up edge
  • 3 Tbsp. butter
  • 1/3 c. firmly packed brown sugar
  • 1 c. evaporated milk
  • 1/2 c. water
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 1/2 c. pumpkin
  • 1/2 c. granulated sugar
  • 1/2 c. firmly packed brown sugar
  • 1 1/2 tsp. pumpkin spice
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • whipped cream

    To make praline layer:

    Cream butter with one-third cup brown sugar in small bowl.

    Stir in pecans.

    Press over bottom of pie shell in even layer.

    Bake in hot 450° oven for 10 minutes; remove.

    Cool 10 minutes.

    Lower heat to 350°.
