- 1 1/2 c. chopped pecans, divided
- 1 1/2 c. margarine, softened
- 1 (8 oz.) cream cheese, softened
- 3 c. packed brown sugar
- 6 eggs, at room temperature
- 3 1/4 c. plain flour
- 2 tsp. vanilla
Directions

1Preheat oven to 325°.

2Grease and flour a 10-inch tube pan. Sprinkle 1/2 cup pecans in pan.

3Set aside.

4Cream margarine and cream cheese.

5Add brown sugar and cream until light and fluffy (5 minutes).

6Add eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each egg. Fold in flour just until combined.

7Do not overmix.

8Stir in vanilla and remaining 1 cup pecans.

9Spoon batter into pan and place on baking sheet in oven.

10Bake for 1 1/2 hours or until toothpick inserted near center comes out clean.

11Cool in pan 10 minutes and remove.
