- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup blanched whole almonds
Directions

1Grease a small baking pan.

2In a small heavy saucepan heat sugar over moderate heat, stirring, until melted.

3Cook melted sugar, swirling pan occassionally, until deep golden.

4Immediately stir in almonds and pour praline into prepared baking pan.

5Cool praline until hardened completely and break into large pieces.

6Praline may be made 1 day ahead and kept in an airtight container.

7In a food processor grind praline to fine powder.

8Praline powder may be made 2 days ahead and chilled in an airtight container.
