- 14 cup shortening
- 34 cup brown sugar
- 12 teaspoon baking powder
- 12 teaspoon baking soda
- 14 teaspoon salt
- 1 egg
- 2 tablespoons milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 3 cups flour
- 12 cup finely chopped pecans
Directions

1Beat butter and shortening for 30 seconds.

2Add brown sugar, baking powder, soda and salt; beat until combined.

3Beat in egg, milk and vanilla.

4Add flour and stir until dough forms.

5Stir in pecans and divide dough in half.

6Wrap and refrigerate for 4 to 48 hours.

7Cut dough 1/4-inch slices and place 2 inches apart.

8Bake at 375F for 8 to 10 minutes or until lightly browned.
