  • 2 c. sugar
  • 1 Tbsp. Karo syrup
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 1/2 c. milk
  • 2 c. pecans
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1/4 stick margarine or butter

Directions

    In large boiler, stir sugar, syrup, baking soda and milk. Bring to a boil over medium heat until mixture turns a rich brown and reaches soft ball stage (stir constantly).

    Remove from heat and add nuts, vanilla and margarine.

    Continue to stir until mixture begins to cool and thicken.

    Drop spoonfuls onto waxed paper.
