- 1 envelope dry yeast
- 1 1/2 c. warm water
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 Tbsp. sugar
- 4 c. flour
- 1 egg, beaten
- coarse salt
Directions

1Dissolve yeast in warm water and transfer to a mixing bowl. Add salt, sugar and gradual amounts of flour to form dough.

2Knead dough until smooth.

3Cut into small pieces, roll into ropes. Twist ropes into pretzel shapes and place on lightly greased cookie sheets.

4Brush pretzels with a beaten egg and sprinkle coarse salt on top.

5Bake in 425° oven for 12 to 15 minutes.
