  • 1 pkg. fresh active yeast
  • 1 c. warm water
  • 4 1/2 c. all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 egg yolk, beaten with 1 tsp. coarse salt
  • water

Directions

    In a large bowl put the warm water and yeast and stir until dissolved.

    Add sugar, salt and mix flour.

    Knead 8 minutes.

    Put in a bowl and let it rise until it looks double in its size. Grease cookie sheet, shape them and paint them with egg yolk and sprinkle with salt.

    Bake on 475° for 10 minutes.
