Processor French Bread

Ingredients

  • 3 c. unbleached flour
  • 1 pkg. dry yeast
  • 1 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 1/2 tsp. sugar
  • 1 c. lukewarm water

Directions

    Mix flour, yeast, salt and sugar into work bowl.

    Press on/off on processor to blend.

    Add water through feed tube, a ball will form.
  4. 4
    Knead for 1 minute in processor.

    Place in greased bowl. Turn dough over and let rise until double in bowl.

    Punch down and shape into 2 baguettes.

    Place in greased baguette pans and rise until doubled.

    Slash tops with razor and bake in 450° oven for 10 minutes with pan of water in the oven if you want true French bread texture.

    Remove water, brush with salt water and bake 10 minutes more.

    Cool on wire racks.
