Ingredients

  • 2 Tbsp. shortening
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 c. prune juice
  • 1 c. graham flour
  • 1 1/2 c. white flour
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1 c. sour milk
  • 1 tsp. soda
  • 1 c. nuts
  • 1 c. cooked prunes, coarsely chopped

Directions

    Cream shortening and sugar together until light and fluffy. Mix together egg and prune juice.

    Blend with shortening mixture. Sift together dry ingredients.

    Dissolve soda in sour milk; add alternately with dry ingredients to creamed mixture.

    Add nut meats and chopped prunes.

    Bake 1 hour in 350° oven.
