  • 1 1/2 c. sugar
  • 1 c. vegetable oil
  • 3 eggs (unbeaten)
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 2 c. sifted cake flour
  • 1 tsp. each: soda, cinnamon, nutmeg and allspice
  • 1/4 tsp. salt (more if desired)
  • 1 c. buttermilk
  • 1 c. chopped stewed prunes
  • 1 c. chopped nuts

    Blend sugar and oil.

    Add eggs, one at a time, beating between additions.

    Add vanilla, then alternately, the dry ingredients and milk.

    Stir in prunes and nuts.

    Bake in an 11 x 8 x 2-inch pan for 1 hour at 325°.
