  • 1 1/2 c. sugar
  • 2 c. flour (plain)
  • 1 c. cooked, chopped prunes
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 tsp. vanilla flavor
  • 1/2 c. buttermilk
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 1 tsp. nutmeg
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 c. salad oil or melted butter

Directions

    Combine dry ingredients and sift together.

    Stir in oil, eggs, buttermilk and prunes.

    Mix well, then add nuts (if desired). Pour into ungreased 9 x 13-inch pan.

    Bake at 350° for 45 minutes. While still hot in pan, add Topping.

    Cut into squares.
