  • 1 1/2 c. sugar
  • 1 c. vegetable oil
  • 3 eggs
  • 2 c. flour
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1 tsp. nutmeg
  • 1 tsp. allspice
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1 c. buttermilk
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 c. chopped nuts
  • 1 c. cooked and seeded chopped prunes

    Mix first 3 ingredients.

    Sift flour with soda, cinnamon nutmeg, allspice and salt.

    Add flour mixture alternately with buttermilk and vanilla.

    Then add nuts and prunes.

    Pour into greased and floured 13x9-inch pan and bake at 325° for 45 minutes or until tests done.

    While cake is still hot, ice with Buttermilk Icing.
