  • 2 c. flour
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 c. cooked prunes, mashed or 1 jar baby food prunes
  • 1 tsp. baking soda, dissolved in 1 c. buttermilk
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 2 c. sugar
  • 1 c. Wesson oil
  • 1 c. nuts
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. cloves
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1 tsp. allspice
  • 1 tsp. nutmeg

Directions

    Mix sugar and oil slowly; add soda to milk and combine.

    Add prunes and 1 cup flour.

    Beat eggs in mixture.

    Add rest of flour (1 cup), spices, salt, vanilla and nuts.

    Preheat oven to 350°. Bake in greased and floured loaf pan for 1 hour.
