Prune Pudding

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 c. sugar
  • 2 c. flour
  • 1 tsp. each: nutmeg, cinnamon, allspice, salt and soda
  • 1 c. buttermilk
  • 1 c. chopped nuts (black walnuts if possible)
  • 1 c. cooked mashed or chopped prunes
  • 1 c. salad oil
  • 1 tsp. vanilla

Directions

    Blend all dry ingredients together.

    Add to them alternately with buttermilk.

    Add nuts, prunes, oil and vanilla.

    Bake at 300° for 40 minutes.

    Cut loose from sides of pan and cut in squares (in pan).

    Pour icing over it.
