  • 2 c. brown sugar
  • 1/2 c. light corn syrup
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 2/3 c. water
  • 1 tsp. vanilla

Directions

    Put first 4 ingredients into deep saucepan.

    Cook over low heat.

    Stir until sugar is dissolved.

    Cook, without stirring, to the hard ball stage or to 268° by candy thermometer.

    Remove from heat.

    Add vanilla.

    Pour into a shallow buttered pan to cool.
