  • 1/2 c. shortening
  • 1 1/2 c. sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 1/2 c. flour
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 3 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp. baking soda
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp. nutmeg
  • 1/2 tsp. ginger
  • 1 c. canned pumpkin or squash
  • 3/4 c. milk
  • 1 c. raisins
  • 1/2 c. chopped nuts

    Cream the shortening and sugar.

    Add eggs and beat.

    In a small bowl, mix pumpkin and milk. Add dry ingredients alternately with pumpkin mixture.

    Add nuts and raisins.

    Pour into greased and floured 9 x 13-inch pan. Bake at 350° for 45 to 50 minutes.
