- 1 cup Crisco shortening
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 cup canned pumpkin
- 1 egg
- 2 cups flour
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 12 teaspoon salt
- 34 cup nuts
- 3 tablespoons butter
- 4 teaspoons milk
- 12 cup brown sugar
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 34 teaspoon vanilla
Directions

1Preheat oven to 375.

2Grease cookie sheets.

3Cream shortening, sugar, pumpkin and egg.

4Sift together flour, soda, and salt.

5Add to creamed ingredients and mix well.

6Add nuts.

7Drop by teaspoons on greased cookie sheets.

8Bake 10 - 12 minutes, depending on the size of cookie.

9Cool completely and then ice.

10For icing, melt butter, milk and brown sugar.

11Add powdered sugar and vanilla.
