  • 2 whole eggs
  • 4 Tbsp. caster sugar (superfine)
  • 2 teacups milk
  • 4 teacups flour
  • 2 tsp. bicarbonate of soda (baking soda)
  • 3 tsp. cream of tartar
  • 2 Tbsp. melted butter or oleo
  • 1/2 c. raisins

Directions

    Beat eggs, sugar and about half the milk together.

    Combine flour, baking soda and cream of tartar; add to mixture along with with rest of the milk and melted butter.

    Add in raisins; blend well.

    Drop by spoonfuls onto a greased baking pan and bake at 400° for 15 to 20 minutes.

    Enough for 16 servings (1 per person).
