- 1 c. soft bread crumbs
- 2 c. scalded milk
- 2 Tbsp. melted butter
- 2 large egg yolks
- 1/4 c. sugar
- 1/2 tsp. vanilla
Directions

1Pour scalded milk over bread crumbs.

2Add melted butter and allow to stand 15 minutes.

3Beat yolks slightly and add sugar, vanilla and salt.

4Blend well and add to bread mixture.

5Beat until smooth.

6Turn into greased baking dish and bake in slow oven at 300° for 45 to 50 minutes or until custard is firm.

7Remove from oven; cool.

8Spread top of pudding with the following meringue and return to oven.

9Cook as directed and serve warm.
