- 1 pint bread crumbs
- 2 tablespoons melted butter
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 quart milk
- 3 eggs separated
- 1 teaspoon lemon extract
- jelly or jam
- 4 tablespoons sugar
Directions

1Soak crumbs in milk for 1/2 hour. Beat yolks of eggs with sugar until yellow. Add lemon extract and butter. Pour into baking dish and bake 1/2 hour. When done spread a layer of jam or jelly over top.

2Beat egg whites stiff. Add sugar and spread over pudding. Brown lightly in moderate oven and serve.
