Ingredients

  • 8 to 9 slices bacon, fry crisp and drain
  • 1 c. shredded Swiss cheese
  • 1 c. grated sharp Cheddar
  • 1 pie shell
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 1/2 c. half and half
  • 3/4 tsp. salt
  • dash of nutmeg
  • dash of pepper

Directions

    Prick holes in pie shell and bake 5 minutes at 450°.

    Remove from oven and cool while bacon is cooking. Drain bacon on paper towel and crumble into pie shell.

    Sprinkle cheeses over bacon. Beat eggs with half and half, salt, pepper and nutmeg.

    Pour carefully into pie shell.

    Bake 12 minutes at 450°.

    Reduce heat to 325° and bake 20 to 25 minutes until custard sets and crust and filling are lightly browned.
