  • 1/2 lb. bacon, fried until crisp and crumbled
  • 1 c. grated Swiss cheese
  • 4 eggs
  • 3/4 c. milk
  • 3/4 c. heavy cream
  • 2 Tbsp. melted butter
  • 1 Tbsp. flour
  • pinch of salt
  • pinch of cayenne pepper
  • pinch of nutmeg
  • frozen 9-inch pie shell

Directions

    Scatter bacon and cheese over bottom of crust.

    Prepare basic custard; beat until blended the eggs, milk, cream, butter, flour, salt, cayenne pepper and nutmeg.

    Pour custard over bacon and cheese.

    Bake in preheated 375° oven, about 40 minutes or until custard is firm and puffy and lightly browned.

    Serve warm or let it cool.
