  • 4 cooking apples*
  • 2 Tbsp. chopped raisins
  • 2 Tbsp. chopped dates
  • 2 Tbsp. chopped walnuts or pecans
  • 1 Tbsp. butter or margarine, melted
  • 1 tsp. cornstarch
  • 3/4 tsp. ground cinnamon
  • 3/4 c. thawed frozen unsweetened apple juice concentrate
  • sour cream or creme fraiche (optional)

    Microwave:

    Remove peel from top and halfway down side of each apple, starting at stem end.

    With apple corer or sharp knife, remove core to within 1/4 inch of bottom of apple, leaving bottom stem end intact.

    Place apples in 9-inch microwavable pie plate or shallow baking dish.
