Quick Buttermilk Rolls

Ingredients
- 1 c. warm buttermilk
- 1/4 c. warm water
- 1 pkg. dry yeast
- 1/4 tsp. soda
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1/4 c. sugar
- 3 to 4 Tbsp. soft shortening
- 2 1/2 to 3 c. flour
Directions

1Dissolve yeast and 1 tablespoon sugar in the warm water.

2Add sugar, shortening and soda to the warm milk, then add to yeast mixture.

3Add flour to make soft dough; knead on floured board until smooth and elastic.

4Cover with cloth and let rest 10 or 15 minutes.

5Roll and cut or shape into desired shapes.

6Put in greased, warm pans.

7Let rise until doubled in a warm place.

8Bake in a 375° to 400° oven.

9Brush with butter or oleo.
