- 1 c. self-rising flour, sifted
- 1/2 c. sugar
- 2 Tbsp. melted shortening
- 2 1/4 c. buttermilk
Directions

1Sift dry ingredients.

2Stir in shortening and buttermilk.

3Pour into greased loaf pan.

4Allow to stand 15 minutes, then bake about 45 minutes at 375°.

5Cover pan with tea towel and let cool.
