  • 2 c. self-rising corn meal
  • 1 c. self-rising flour, sifted
  • 1/2 c. sugar
  • 2 Tbsp. melted shortening
  • 2 1/4 c. buttermilk

    Sift dry ingredients.

    Stir in shortening and buttermilk.

    Pour into greased loaf pan.

    Allow to stand 15 minutes, then bake about 45 minutes at 375°.
