  • 4 Tbsp. sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 c. molasses
  • 1 Tbsp. oil
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 2/3 c. whole wheat flour
  • 1 c. buttermilk

Directions

    In mixing bowl, combine sugar, egg, molasses, oil, baking soda and salt.

    Add flour and buttermilk, mixing thoroughly.

    Spoon mixture into greased and lightly floured 9 x 5 x 3-inch loaf pan. Bake at 350° for 40 to 45 minutes.

    Let stand, covered, for 15 minutes.

    Cool before slicing.
