- 4 Tbsp. sugar
- 1 egg
- 1/2 c. molasses
- 1 Tbsp. oil
- 1 tsp. baking soda
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1 2/3 c. whole wheat flour
- 1 c. buttermilk
Directions

1In mixing bowl, combine sugar, egg, molasses, oil, baking soda and salt.

2Add flour and buttermilk, mixing thoroughly.

3Spoon mixture into greased and lightly floured 9 x 5 x 3-inch loaf pan. Bake at 350° for 40 to 45 minutes.

4Let stand, covered, for 15 minutes.

5Cool before slicing.
