- 1 pkg. yeast, dissolved in 1 c. lukewarm water
- 2 1/2 c. plain flour
- 1 tsp. salt
- 2 Tbsp. sugar
- 2 Tbsp. shortening
- 1 egg
Directions

1Add half flour and remaining ingredients in water-yeast mixture.

2Beat well.

3Add rest of flour and stir with wooden spoon until smooth.

4Let rise 40 minutes.

5Grease muffin pan.

6Spoon into muffin pan.

7Let rise until double.

8Bake at 400° for 10 to 20 minutes.
