- 1 1/4 c. water
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1/4 c. shortening
- 3 Tbsp. sugar
- 1 pkg. dry yeast
- 3 c. flour
- 1 egg, beaten
Directions

1Combine water, shortening, sugar and salt in a small saucepan. Cook, stirring constantly, until shortening melts.

2Let cool to lukewarm.

3Dissolve yeast in mixture.

4Add egg; mix well.

5Stir in flour.

6Spoon dough into greased muffin tins.

7Fill half full. Cover and let rise in warm place (85°), free from draft for 1 hour, until doubled in bulk.

8Bake at 425° for 12 to 14 minutes or until golden brown.
