- 1 lb. stewing beef, cut into cubes
- 2/3 Tbsp. fat or oil
- 1/4 c. chopped green pepper
- 2 Tbsp. chopped parsley
- salt, pepper and flour
- 1 small chopped onion
- 3/4 c. chopped celery
- paprika
- hot water
Directions

1Sprinkle beef with salt, pepper and flour.

2Brown well in the fat in a heavy pan.

3While meat is browning, add the chopped vegetables.

4Sprinkle with paprika; add hot water to cover.

5Cover pan and cook slowly for 2 1/2 to 3 hours.

6If gravy is not thick enough, blend 1/2 tablespoon flour with a little cold water and stir into the stew.

7Cook 3 to 5 minutes.

8Season to taste with salt and pepper.

9If additional seasoning is desired, add catsup, chili sauce or grated horseradish.
