Ingredients

  • 1 c. sugar
  • 5 eggs, beaten
  • 2/3 c. powdered sugar
  • 4 c. warm water
  • 1/2 c. melted oleo or oil
  • 4 pkg. dry yeast
  • 3 tsp. salt
  • 12 to 15 c. flour

Directions

    Mix all ingredients together, working in more flour if needed. Knead at least 10 minutes.

    Roll out dough to 1/2-inch thickness and cut into donuts.

    Let rise to almost double in size.

    Fry in oil at 375° until lightly brown on one side, then turn over and brown other side.

    Remove from oil and set on drainer.
