- 2/3 c. milk
- 1/2 c. sugar
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1/2 c. butter or margarine
- 1/2 c. warm water
- 2 pkg. dry yeast
- 3 eggs
- 5 1/4 c. flour
- 1 1/2 c. raisins
Directions

1Soak raisins for 20 minutes in hot water before bread is mixed.

2Drain and let cool.

3Dissolve yeast in warm water.

4Heat milk to lukewarm.

5Then add all liquids to 1/2 of flour mixture to make soft dough.

6Add beaten eggs and raisins.

7Stir well and add balance of flour.

8Turn out on floured board.

9Knead well.
-
10Put in oiled bowl; let rise 50 minutes, then divide in half.

11Shape into 2 loaves.
-
12Bake in a greased 9 x 5 x 3-inch pan after dough has doubled in size.

13Bake at 350° for 30 to 35 minutes.
