  • 1 c. raisins
  • 1/3 c. shortening
  • 3/4 c. sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 1/2 c. flour
  • 1 tsp. soda
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1 tsp. vanilla

Directions

    Cover raisins with water; boil for 10 minutes, or until half the water is left.

    Cream shortening and sugar.

    Add egg and vanilla; beat.

    Mix flour, soda, salt and cinnamon together; add to the creamed mixture.

    Add the raisins and juice and fold in. Bake at 350° for 25 minutes.

    Makes 1 dozen.
