- 1 1/2 tsp. cream of tartar
- 3/4 tsp. baking soda
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1/2 c. soft butter or margarine
- 1/2 c. raisins
- 1 egg
- about 1 c. buttermilk
- 1 egg yolk
- sugar (to sprinkle)
Directions

1Sift flour and cream of tartar into a bowl.

2Cut in butter. Add raisins, whole egg and enough buttermilk to make a soft dough. Mix and turn out on floured board.

3Knead a few times.

4(The less handling, the better.)

5Roll to 1/2-inch thickness.

6Cut into 2-inch triangles or circles.
