Ingredients

  • 2 c. buttermilk
  • 4 to 6 Tbsp. sugar
  • 3 Tbsp. Crisco oil or butter
  • 4 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 c. warm water
  • 2 pkg. dry yeast
  • 5 c. flour (more, if needed)

Directions

    Dissolve sugar in warm water in a large mixing bowl. Add dry yeast. Add other ingredients.

    Mix and let stand to rise. Work down 3 times, then put in refrigerator.

    Will keep in refrigerator up to 3 weeks.

    (Work down often.) Bake in a 350° oven.
