Raspberry Jam Bars

- 1 3/4 c. plus 1 Tbsp. flour
- 1/2 c. nuts, finely chopped (optional)
- 3/4 c. butter or margarine
- 1/2 c. sifted powdered sugar
- 3/4 c. red raspberry preserves
Directions

1Stir together 1 3/4 cups flour and nuts.

2In a larger bowl, beat butter until soft.

3Add powdered sugar and beat until fluffy. Add flour mixture and beat until crumbly.

4Press 2/3 of crumbs in bottom of ungreased 9 x 9 x 2-inch baking pan.

5Spread jam over base of crumbs.

6Stir the 1 tablespoon flour into remaining crumb mix and sprinkle over jam.

7Bake at 375° for 25 to 30 minutes or until crumbs are golden.

8Cool and cut into bars.
