Raspberry Jam Bars

  • 1 3/4 c. plus 1 Tbsp. flour
  • 1/2 c. nuts, finely chopped (optional)
  • 3/4 c. butter or margarine
  • 1/2 c. sifted powdered sugar
  • 3/4 c. red raspberry preserves

Directions

    Stir together 1 3/4 cups flour and nuts.

    In a larger bowl, beat butter until soft.

    Add powdered sugar and beat until fluffy. Add flour mixture and beat until crumbly.

    Press 2/3 of crumbs in bottom of ungreased 9 x 9 x 2-inch baking pan.

    Spread jam over base of crumbs.

    Stir the 1 tablespoon flour into remaining crumb mix and sprinkle over jam.

    Bake at 375° for 25 to 30 minutes or until crumbs are golden.

    Cool and cut into bars.
