  • 2 c. flour
  • 1 c. uncooked farina
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 1 tsp. baking powder
  • 3 sticks butter, softened
  • 1/2 c. sugar
  • 1 1/2 c. milk
  • 5 eggs, separated
  • 1 c. milk
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 c. chopped nuts

    Beat egg whites (room temperature) until stiff.

    In a separate bowl, cream the butter and sugar 5 minutes on medium speed.

    Add egg yolks.

    Beat 5 minutes more until light and fluffy.

    On low speed alternately beat in flour mixture with milk and vanilla mixture, blending until smooth. Blend in egg whites, beaten stiff. Add 3/4 cup nuts. Divide in two 9 x 9-inch pans or one oblong 10 x 15-inch pan. Bake at 350° for 35 minutes or until done.
